2024 Haiti Video Update
Our Story
The work in Haiti began 20+ years ago with a group of faithful, committed people including Jerry & Sonja Dickherber and Dr. Paz and his wife Barb. Many more would join them in the legacy of this effort traveling to La Gonave Island, Haiti and establishing the work that we now serve. The origin of the story helping Haiti began when this group of people established a non-profit organization in Haiti called Celebrate Jesus of Haiti (CJOH), caring for the needs of the people on La Gonave Island, Haiti. To help fund this work, they organized a golf tournament that gave people the opportunity to contribute to the impact that they were having in Haiti. In 2020 this tournament became the GOLI Helping Haiti Golf Tournament, along with continuing the work on La Gonave Island. Many of the original faithful volunteers are still serving and supporting this continued work.
GOLI - Haiti
The work in Haiti includes critical areas of need like a water project, a health clinic, a school, feeding programs and a computer lab with internet. All of this was created, developed and funded by volunteers and corporate partners committed to a child’s most innate need while blessing GOLI with the opportunity to love and care for children at the most fundamental level. GOLI’s ministry in Haiti provides children with the love and support they are longing for through both physical and spiritual avenues. Our feeding program runs five days a week, and in many cases, is the only meal a child may have on any given day.
Golf Tournament
On October 21st, 2024, GOLI will be having our annual golf tournament at Top Golf - Chesterfield. This tournament is a significant source of funding for the Helping Haiti work. When businesses and individuals come together and support this event, we are all having a direct impact on the lives of children and their families in Haiti.
